Jonesboro Praise
Sunday, September 7, 6 pm
I Stand Amazed will be presented by the Jonesboro Choir & Orchestra with the Frontline High School Choir on Sunday, September 7 at 6 pm in the Worship Center. Join us for an incredible evening of praise.

Back to Church Sunday: September 7
You are invited to Back to Church Sunday—a special day where we will invite unchurched people in our community to come and give church a try! On Sunday, September 7, we will have a special service to welcome our guests and make them feel comfortable. Ask your Sunday school teacher how you can help with this outreach.

Children's Music & Missions

Wednesdays at 6 pm

Music & Missions is offered for ages 3 (by September 1, 2014) through 5th grade. Music activities/choirs are held from 6 pm to 7 pm and missions are held from 7:05 to 8:05 pm. Contact Mary Barton at mbarton@fbcjonesboro.com or Jason Hand at jhand@fbcjonesboro.com.


Christmas in Romania

Collecting Items Each Sunday in August

Each August items are collected and shipped to Romania. Our members distribute these in December as an important part of the strategy to carry the Gospel to people who have never heard. Help provide for the very poor by donating Barbie dolls & baby dolls, cars/trucks, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, socks, gloves, scarves and handmade & knitted items (blankets & quilts).


One Day Student Pastors Conference
Thursday, August 28, 12 noon - 8:30 pm, FBJ Fellowship Hall

Spend the day with 3 youth professors at the One Day Student Pastors Conference hosted by First Baptist Jonesboro. Speakers are Allen Jackson, PhD, Professor of Youth Education and Collegiate Ministry at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary; Johnny L. Deruouen, PhD, Associate Professor of Student Ministry at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Alvin L. Reid, PhD, Professor of Evangelism and Student Ministry at Southeaster Baptist Theological Seminary. Total cost: $60 per person. For more information call 770.471.1573. Real Talk at the Cafe
Tuesday, September 2, 6:30 - 8:30 pm
All women are invited to Real Talk on Tuesday, September 2, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Melody will interview a former prostitute and drug addict who has encountered a real God that radically changed her life. Come for the fellowship, testimonies and to be changed by our great God. Doors at the Café open at 5:45 pm.

Sons of Jubal in Concert
Thursday, September 11, 7 pm
The Sons of Jubal will be in concert at FBJ on Thursday, September 11 at 7 pm in the Worship Center. This male chorus is composed of ministers of music who serve in churches of the Georgia Baptist Convention. Sons of Jubal is a music and missions organization whose members are committed to worship enrichment and gospel proclamation. The group has traveled extensively on mission throughout its history in Georgia, the U.S. and to other countries.

Sweet Strokes: An Introduction to Painting
Saturday, September 13
An Introduction to Painting event led by Sarah Blackaby will be held on Saturday, September 13 from 10 am to 1 pm in Room 120. Cost is $15 which includes lunch. Click here to register.

Train for a Public Emergency
Saturday, September 20
Both new and returning volunteers are needed to train for a public emergency on Saturday, September 20, 8 am to 2 pm, in the Celebration Room of the ROC. Widows/Widowers Special Luncheon

Pregnancy Care Center Benefit Banquet
Tuesday, September 30
A banquet to benefit the Pregnancy Care Center will be held on Tuesday, September 30, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, in the Fellowship Hall. Women's Fall Retreat
Friday-Saturday, October 10-11
A women’s retreat will be held October 10-11 at Camp Carter. Julie Cook will be teaching on “Never in Need: Declaring Your Dependence on Jesus.” She will address questions such as: What do you believe about difficult times in your life? Extension Now in Jonesboro

New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary has now launched a fully accredited extension center at First Baptist Jonesboro. Programs include Certificate Level, Bachelor Degree, Master Degree and Doctorate of Ministry (in the near future). To find out more, click here.
