Jonesboro Praise
Sunday, September 7, 6 pm
I Stand Amazed will be presented by the Jonesboro Choir & Orchestra with the Frontline High School Choir on Sunday, September 7 at 6 pm in the Worship Center. Join us for an incredible unevening of praise.

Back to Church Sunday: September 7
You are invited to Back to Church Sunday—a special day where we will invite unchurched people in our community to come and give church a try! On Sunday, September 7, we will have a special service to welcome our guests and make them feel comfortable. Ask your Sunday school teacher how you can help with this outreach.

Fall Discipleship Classes

New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary 

Extension Now in Jonesboro

New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary has now launched a fully accredited extension center at First Baptist Jonesboro. Programs include Certificate Level, Bachelor Degree, Master Degree and Doctorate of Ministry (in the near future). To find out more, click here.

Children's Music & Missions

Wednesdays at 6 pm

Christmas in Romania

Collecting Items Each Sunday in August


Each August items are collected and shipped to Romania. Our members distribute these in December as an important part of the strategy to carry the Gospel to people who have never heard. Help provide for the very poor by donating:


Aug. 3 - Barbie dolls & baby dolls

Aug. 10 - cars/trucks

Aug. 17 - soap, shampoo, toothpaste

Aug. 24 - socks, gloves, scarves

Aug. 31 - handmade & knitted items (blankets & quilts)

Choirs & Orchestra Rehearsals
  • JONESBORO WORSHIP CHOIR - Rehearsals have resumed and are held Wednesdays at 6:45 pm in the Choir Room. New singers are always welcome and audition is not required. For information, contact Gini Muncus at ginimuncus@fbcjonesboro.com.
JONESBORO ORCHESTRA - Rehearsals have resumed and are held Wednesdays at 6:45 pm in the Worship Center. At least two years of experience on an instrument is needed. Contact Tom Lynn at tlynn@fbcjonesboro.com.

CROSSROADS & FRONTLINE CHOIRS - Rehearsals resume at 4:15 pm on August 17 for Crossroads Middle School Choir (Chapel Room 112) and Frontline High School Choir (Choir Room).

Marriage Matters Date Night

360 Reach Out Student Rallies
The ROC West Wing, August 23-24
Be part of amazing student rallies on Saturday and Sunday, August 23-24. Speaker will be Scott Dawson and music by our own Cafe on Main Band. On Saturday, the student ministry will hold a Tailgate Cookout from 5 - 6:05 pm. Special guests are area High School football teams, bands, cheerleaders and drum lines. 360REACHOUT Rally will be 6:15 pm - 7:45 pm. On Sunday, students are encouraged to bring 3 friends and pack the West Wing from 5 pm - 6:05 pm and consume large amounts of Italian pies. 360REACHOUT Rally will be 6:15 pm - 7:45 pm.

One Day Student Pastors Conference
Thursday, August 28, 12 noon - 8:30 pm, FBJ Fellowship Hall

Spend the day with 3 youth professors at the One Day Student Pastors Conference hosted by First Baptist Jonesboro. Speakers are Allen Jackson, PhD, Professor of Youth Education and Collegiate Ministry at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary; Johnny L. Deruouen, PhD, Associate Professor of Student Ministry at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Alvin L. Reid, PhD, Professor of Evangelism and Student Ministry at Southeaster Baptist Theological Seminary. Total cost: $60 per person. For more information call 770.471.1573. Sons of Jubal in Concert
Thursday, September 11, 7 pm
The Sons of Jubal will be in concert at FBJ on Thursday, September 11 at 7 pm in the Worship Center. This male chorus is composed of ministers of music who serve in churches of the Georgia Baptist Convention. Sons of Jubal (see Genesis 4:21) is a music and missions organization whose members are committed to worship enrichment and gospel proclamation. The group has traveled extensively on mission throughout its history not only in Georgia and other parts of the U.S. but also to other countries.

Train for a Public Emergency
Saturday, September 30
Both new and returning volunteers are needed to train for a public emergency on Saturday, September 20, 8 am to 2 pm, in the Celebration Room of the ROC.
