Senior adults are a vital part of the ministry at FBCJ. Through our worship times, Bible study classes, retreats, socials and conferences, senior adults are reminded of God’s love and His call for them to minister in His name. Many serve as teachers, choir members, visitors, and volunteers through outreach ministries.
Saints Alive is our weekly activity for adults 55 and better. Meetings are held in the West Wing of The ROC at 11:00 AM on Thursdays. Lunch is served after all meetings ($2.25 per person). Programs cover a wide range of topics and interests such as testimonies, inspirational speakers, health issues and musical guests.
Several Day Trips are also included in our activities and take the place of a weekly meeting for those months. These trip include King Tut Exhibit in March, Day at the Mall of Georgia in April, Dutch treat Lunch at area restaurant in June and Leaf and Apple Trip in October. Special Occasions/Recognitions include Senior Adult Valentine Banquet in February, Senior Adult Day and Senior Adult Led Revival in April.
Our senior adult choir meets on Thursdays at 9:30 AM in the Choir Room. Led by Irvin Pearre, the choir sings in our worship services at various times throughout the year.
